Enabling high-quality instruction to help increase reading proficiency by the third grade.
Enabling high-quality instruction to help increase reading proficiency by the third grade.
Kindergarten through third grade graders from Kenna, Pinch, Piedmont and Chamberlain Elementary Schools, as well as 40 teachers and 10 administrators.
A cohort of Kanawha County School teachers and administrators will undergo LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training which covers extensive, research-based professional learning in literacy instruction. By encouraging high-quality instruction, teachers can help increase student reading proficiency and enable students to discover, excel and advance in reading and writing skills by the end of the third grade.
