Counsel - West Virginia State Senate
Hank Hager is Counsel to the WV Senate Education Committee. He graduated from Marshall University in 1990 and the WVU College of Law in 1994. Following graduation he began working for the WV Legislature as a bill drafter in Legislative Services. Since May of 1996 he has been Counsel to the WV Senate Education Committee. Hank has served under four Committee Chairs during his tenure with the Senate Education Committee - Senators Lloyd Jackson, Bob Plymale, Dave Sypolt, and now Kenny Mann. Hank’s work focuses primarily on public education and through the years has included such areas as school innovation, school calendar, the school aid formula, school personnel employment and pay, college and career readiness, early childhood education, education quality and equity, and education standards.
